On 14 May, Red Incola, within the framework of the IMPACT Project, organised the webinar “When Climate Change Forces Migration: Causes, Realities and Responses from a Human Rights Perspective and Through Civil Society Networking”, in collaboration with Entreculturas.

The webinar brought together professionals, volunteers, students, and members of civil society to reflect on the growing connection between climate change and migration. The session aimed to raise awareness of climate-related displacement, explore its human and social consequences, and highlight the importance of human rights-based responses and collaborative action among civil society organisations.

The event attracted strong interest, with 83 registrations and 69 participants attending live. To ensure wider accessibility and long-term impact, the recording was later published online, reaching an additional audience after the event.

The webinar featured expert contributions from Yolanda González and Francisco Vera, who shared valuable insights and experiences on climate migration, environmental justice, and social responses to displacement. The session was opened and closed by Red Incola’s European Project Managers, Laura González and Carmen Orefice, who also presented the objectives, results, and resources developed through the IMPACT Project.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees highlighted the relevance of the topic, the quality of the presentations, and the opportunity to learn about realities that often receive limited public attention. The webinar encouraged critical reflection and generated constructive discussions on how societies can respond more effectively and inclusively to climate-induced migration.

The results demonstrate the success of this awareness-raising activity: 100% of participants reported an improvement in their knowledge of the topic and expressed satisfaction with the way the subject was presented. The event also reinforced the importance of continuing to create spaces for dialogue, learning, and collective action that promote human rights, social inclusion, and climate justice.
