RED INCOLA FUNDACION

Red Incola is a non-profit organization, built as an association in 2006 and as a Foundation in 2011. Our general board is composed of eight entities, connected in a collective network to carry out a joint mission: to support the immigrant population in risk situations of exclusion, the promotion and defence of their rights so that they can have a dignified life. As an organization we wish to contribute to this effort, offering our reflections and our works as an integrated response to the challenges presented by the issues of migration; we strive to improve the quality of our programs and to increase our influence in the pursuit of a more just society.

We dream of a world built upon the values of tolerance and dialogue, the free movement of individuals and the collaboration of nations so that no person is ever forced to emigrate.

Our operational interests include:

  • Initial Welcome, Attention and Care (essential needs, social worker provides information and/or help in issues like clothing service, showers, washing, emergency situations housing, food, derivation to Legal counselling…):

 Inside this area, there is also a specific program for women called “Caminando Juntas”, Walking Together, in which we provide a space for personal growth, training and promotion of equality for migrant women. We develop Spanish language learning activities and training workshops that facilitate dialogue, encounter and the creation of relationships between women of different cultures and identities. Accompaniment is a fundamental tool in the program, creating a space to take care of oneself and feel listened to, promoting personal empowerment and participation. As a complement and promotion of the programme, a playroom is offered for the children of the participants.

  • Training and Employment:

     Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the labour-market services remained at the center of our priorities. In this area, we aim at the social and labor insertion of people in situation of social exclusion. We enhance the employability of the participants through personalized guidance and training, which we complement with job placement actions. Our challenge is to create opportunities for employment through a methodology of individualized itineraries with each person.

✔ Individual and group counselling: (labour market’s information, CV and cover letter writing, competency development training, assertive training, job-seeking techniques, job hunting).

  • Legal counselling:

We offer legal accompaniment to migrants and people in vulnerable situations in their relations with both the administration and different legal institutions.

We provide legal advice to foreign people in various areas of law such as Immigration and Asylum, Family, Gender Violence, Minors or housing, through a lawyer registered with the Lawyers' Association of Valladolid, referring to the duty of an attorney and free justice if necessary.

  • Childhood and Youth Area:

We are committed to the education of boys, girls and young people who present circumstances of special vulnerability. We help them in their personal, family and social development so that they have a future of opportunities. Through family intervention, educational support, accompaniment and the promotion of healthy use of free time, we transmit values that help them in their personal, family and social development.

  • Awareness raising campaigns:

One of the area of Red Incola aims at increase social awareness and participation. We work to make citizens aware of the opportunities presented by the phenomenon of migration, to raise awareness of the reality they are experiencing and to denounce the violation of rights they are suffering. 

We organize awareness raising activities in schools, entities and companies aimed at promoting tolerant and supportive attitudes, knowing the reality of migrants and refugees, and recognizing poverty and social exclusion in our city. We have presence in more than 20 schools and universities per year.

We participate in campaigns, street events, reflection groups and other types of activities that promote the reception and hospitality of migrants, as well as the defence of their rights. We are part of the Platform of Circles of Silence and the Hospitality Campaign of the Jesuit Service for Migrants - Spain (SJM-E).

 

  • Interreligious Dialogue & Pastoral Fostering :

In 2019 we have opened our Interreligious Space, which is located in our office in Valladolid. With this pace we to try to stimulate the dialogue and make bridges between cultures. Since then more than 200 people per year have visited our exhibit on religious diversity.

  • The Volunteer Area:

Since the beginning, the volunteer corps has been an essential pillar in the work that Red Íncola does to benefit the immigrant population. None of the actions, projects and resources that we depend on would be possible without the selfless collaboration of volunteers: people who altruistically dedicate part of their time to accompany migrants in different issues. Besides our office team, Red Incola is also made up of 500 volunteer people  with a huge range of diversity.

Currently we are developing our 5th year of European Solidarity Project, hosting three European volunteers. In 2023, our foundation has supported and sent 10 volunteers abroad

 

EU LEVEL:

We have wide experience at local, regional and national level projects, we started with European projects in 2018, Since then, we have been participating in AMIF, REC,  K2 ERASMUS+, and ESC, with several topics related to our mission

We are an Official Youth Information Center, and we develop a program with young migrants that support them to not dropping out of the system at scholar level, but also at leisure and free time, that fights for the social inclusion of disadvantaged young people.
